About Peace Love Tidy
My Story
Hi! My name is Emily and I am the owner of Peace Love Tidy. My goal is to help you put your house in order by guiding you through the KonMari Method of Tidying. Organizing a home can be a daunting task, and I hope to support you throughout the journey -- a Tidying Festival can be a once-in-a-lifetime event for those who are committed to the process. I believe that a tidy home can help calm the mind.

A little more about my professional journey: I am originally from Oshkosh, WI, and graduated from UW Oshkosh with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services Leadership. I then went on to complete a Master's Degree in Counseling, and worked as an Elementary School Counselor for a number of years before making the change to become a Tidying Consultant. I enjoy working with people and families, and helping them to see the joy in their belongings and homes. I currently reside in Appleton, WI, serving the Fox Valley and surrounding areas.

Along with tidying, I also enjoy spending time with my friends and family, catching up on my favorite shows, attending Zumba classes, hiking, and spending time outside!
The KonMari Method of Tidying
Marie Kondo is an organizing consultant from Japan. She is also a published author and has a number of TV specials, showcasing her philosophy of tidying and organizing. Her method of tidying is called the KonMari Method.
The KonMari Method is a unique take on tidying and organizing, as it focuses on categories versus locations in your home. Marie Kondo also speaks to the terms "sparks joy" and "joy checking", when going through your belongings and deciding what to keep. During the Tidying Festival, there are five categories which will be addressed in this order: clothing, books, paper, komono (miscellaneous items), and sentimental. After discarding what doesn't spark joy to you in each category, items are organized and placed into their home.
